mySurebets, Sure Bet Bookies and SureBet Zone

Posted by Aegist on May 23rd, 2008

Wow, its a Surebet-a-thon in that title isn’t it?

First of all, mySurebets is a brand new service just launched, and I have added them to the arbitrage alert service page *and* SureBetBookies (I’m quite proud of my efficiency there, but please, hold your applause…).

Since I was updating SureBetBookies with a new alert service, I also added Oddstorm, who I embarrassingly forgot to add when I did the major update to it a few weeks ago. Sorry Oddstorm! All good now though, users can easily search Oddstorm bookies as well as any other alert service bookmakers.

I also removed Surebet Zone from the SBB database because Surebet Zone are no longer taking subscribers and are ‘restructuring’ their website. So they may be back with a change, or they may stop doing arbitrage altogether - not sure at this stage. Accordingly, they have been moved into the “Inactive” section of the alerts page.

In other news, I am actually going to finally finish the 3rd section of SAG - the how to trade section. It has been a long time coming, but I swear I’ll do it this time. I have written much of it out, just proof reading and re-structuring it so that it all makes sense - it is very difficult to explain! We are also working on growing SureBetBookies rapidly over the next few weeks. The initial goal is 150 bookmakers, but we may even make this 200 bookmakers as we are moving pretty fast now.

And finally, in light of the interest in my previous article about Arbitrage Trading as being completely neglected by the Work At Home industry - if anyone who operates a work at home blog or website is interested in writing about Sports Arbitrage (offering something *unique* to your readers), feel free to contact me for more information, more resources, or just to ask a few questions. I may also consider writing articles myself if requested.

SportsPunter and Surebet Zone updates

Posted by Aegist on October 14th, 2007

Sportspunter

Sportspunter’s surebet alerts service is once again accepting new customers after its recent closure, but there has been a significant price increase (almost double). Sportspunter has been consistently upgraded and added to ever since I was introduced to it over a year ago, and no doubt it will continue to improve. This is the first price increase since the inception of the service, and the improvements since that time have been great. The main reason for the change in price is to bring it in line with the sort of price one would expect of a professional service, while other considerations include a desire to not have the service flooded with ongoing new registrations, which would effectively result in a reduction of the quality of the unique arbs found by Sportspunter.

The new prices are (off the Sportspunter website):

  • An initial two week cost of $AU50, $US46, €33, £23,
  • Weekly: $AUD50, $USD46, €33, £23; OR
  • Monthly: $AUD160, $USD145, €105, £70; OR
  • Quarterly: $AUD440, $USD400, €285, £195; OR
  • Half Yearly: $AUD780, $USD710, €505, £350; OR
  • Yearly: $AUD1400, $USD1270, €905, £625

Register with Sportspunter now.

Surebet Zone

Surebet Zone has had a number of additions and improvements lately. They have added Betfair to their bookmaker coverage, and with that opened up a range of lay based arbitrages in their alerts. To accomodate this, their calculator has added back/lay functionality as well as personalised commission calculations which can be edited from your filters screen. They have also made it possible to filter all bet types, and they have added a colun on the surebets screen which indicates the percentage variation in the odds for this arb from the average odds across all other bookmakers. Obviously this is a way of helping users to avoid placing palpable error bets.

Having now settled in, Surebet Zone has set its price at 29 per month, which makes it one of the most cost effective alert services available.

SureBetBookies Updates

Posted by Aegist on October 3rd, 2007

SureBetBookies has recently had all of its alert services updated in accordance with all of the changes that have come about recently. GotoBets, ArbWinner and NickelVacuum have all been removed from the search options and the alert services display page, while Gamblers Paradise, BetLines, ArbSpy, OddsExplorer, Free Sports Arbitrage and Surebet Zone have all been added.

BetDirect and BetSafe bookmakers have also just been added to the database, and more bookmakers will be regularly added over the next month, as will many other additions. For example I am working to make the whole system easier to use for first time visitors. I’m not sure everyone really understands the value of SureBetBookies, and so I have to do more to make you all realise it! Particularly the power of the comments section where instead of trawling through pages and pages of random forum posts in our own forum, SBR, ArbForum, or any other bookmaker rating service/forum, you can just look in one place for comments on that bookmaker. Of course, in order for this to work, people need to actually participate and leave comments. So, after a few more upgrades and improvements, I will be announcing a cash prize competition for whoever leaves the most (useful) comments for bookmakers in SureBetBookies.

Also, I have decided to return SureBetBookies to an openly sure bets based bookmaker database. There will be no attempt to disguise the sure bets association with the use of SureBetBookies. However, to offset this association I am also working on another website which will use the same database that drives SureBetBookies, but make it completely recreation/professional gambler dedicated. The website is already under construction at Sportsbook-Listing.com and while it will use the same database as SureBetBookies, none of the alert services information will be used or displayed, no reference to arbitrage or sure bets will be made anywhere on the website, I will be posting articles about gambling and sports, and I will advertise the website on gambling websites. This is a further step to protect users of SureBetBookies from being associated with arbitrage trading.

Surebet Zone Sports Arbitrage Trading Alert Service added to SAG

Posted by Aegist on August 1st, 2007

Surebet Zone have just announced a discounted fee until the 31st of August and the addition of a number of bookmakers to their coverage. They have been added to the main Sports Arbitrage trading alert service page in the main Sports Arbitrage Guide website.

Their discounted fee is only €19, and they also offer a 2 day free trial so you can try before you buy. They have a decent coverage of bet types, with a small selection of high quality bookmakers (all but 1 score very high in popularity on SBB). Their system seems to be pretty smooth and reports in the DTM forums are already quite positive about the results.

A couple of positive points that I take from looking at them for the second time now. I do like the way they display the arbs with just the basic information that matters, then the details displayed once you click on it. (See screenshot here) You really don’t need to know all of the details of every arb found, you only need to know the details once you decide to place it. The second major positive is the way that they clearly display all of the odds they have for that particular game. I like being able to easily see ‘the market’ at a glance. That helps you to identify palpable errors, and spot whether one bookmaker is grossly out of line. Any experienced traders will know how invaluable that information is, and having it so conspicuously displayed is handy, whereas most other alert services require a click through to see it.

However, on the negative side, to see the calculator you do have to click through to a whole new page. That can be annoying when you are trying to rush an arb and you are trying to balance your thoughts of ‘how much and where?’ and ‘What side/Who am i betting on?’ So there is room for improvement there. That being said though, their calculator is good efficient, and contrary to my previous report they do indeed allow you to vary and lock in each individual bet. The calculator starts on a ‘basic arb’ method (where you just change the total investment), but you can then select ‘Adjust Stakes’ which gives you complete control over each individual bet and the ability to favour one side or the other. Quite an effective method too.

More Alert Services to be added

In other news I will be working over the next couple of days to add a few more services to the main alert services page: Gamblers Paradise, Free Sports Arbitrage and AusSoft/GlobalSoft/Reevera. The last one may be a shock, but they do indeed sell an alert service and the philosophy at SAG is to provide the information, do our best to provide *All* of the information, and to provide it in an objective fashion. So an entry will be made for AusSoft, and I think it will do more to highlight the discrepancy between their price and what they offer compared to all of the other services. Providing the information side by side with their competition will allow the market to actually work, and allow the consumer to make an informed choice, rather than a choice forced by salesmanship in ignorance.

Surebet Zone, Another New Arbitrage Trading Alert Service

Posted by Aegist on May 3rd, 2007

Another brand new Surebet alert service was brought to my attention tonight. Surebet Zone is as fresh off the website design press as they come and is offering free access to their service until the 1st of July, so get in while you can.

Their setup is incredibly straight forward. Very plain website, (makes it easy to use and fast loading) website based alerts, simple filtering system, simple calculator, limited number of bookmakers. It is probably too early to really evaluate Surebet Zone, it is obvious that they are providing free access to their service at the moment simply to test out their software, work out the bugs, and get some general feedback. So for my part, let me try to offer some feedback on what they have so far…

The first thing I would hope for them, is that their service will increase in scope in some way. At the moment, they offer nothing new, nothing inspiring, and nothing which makes them stand out. Their interface is very clean and easy to use, which is a positive, but many alert services have easy to use interfaces, so it isn’t special. Their bookmakers and sports types are very typical, and thus quite limiting (they cover 10 books with 3 bet types). So as I said, I think they need to increase the scope of their service in order to distinguish themselves in some way.

Also, I find the calculator quite uninspiring. Odds 1, Odds 2, (Odds 3,) Total Bet, results rounded to nearest dollar, and thats it. No limiting one side of the bet, no options to round to $5, no maximising one side or the other. Once again, about distinguishing your service: Nickel Vacuum still has the best calculator of all alert services that I have seen, and ArbsCalc is still easily the best stand alone arb calculator that I know of which is freely downloadable. The Surebet Zone calculator ‘will do’, but that is all I can really say about it. It’ll do.

And that is really all there is to their service so far. Standard bookmakers, standard bet types, standard calculator, standard filter options. BUT, this is basically still in pre-release phase. So maybe they just want to work the bugs out of the simplified version, then grow it from there. I’m only guessing there, but there certainly is a lot of room for added extras in their service.

So, register for yourself and check out what they offer. The free service lasts until July 1, so get in there. I will have a closer look at their actual arbs and their quality sometime in the coming weeks and add this service to the general arbitrage trading alert service page.
