SureBetBookies Updates

Posted by Aegist on October 3rd, 2007

SureBetBookies has recently had all of its alert services updated in accordance with all of the changes that have come about recently. GotoBets, ArbWinner and NickelVacuum have all been removed from the search options and the alert services display page, while Gamblers Paradise, BetLines, ArbSpy, OddsExplorer, Free Sports Arbitrage and Surebet Zone have all been added.

BetDirect and BetSafe bookmakers have also just been added to the database, and more bookmakers will be regularly added over the next month, as will many other additions. For example I am working to make the whole system easier to use for first time visitors. I’m not sure everyone really understands the value of SureBetBookies, and so I have to do more to make you all realise it! Particularly the power of the comments section where instead of trawling through pages and pages of random forum posts in our own forum, SBR, ArbForum, or any other bookmaker rating service/forum, you can just look in one place for comments on that bookmaker. Of course, in order for this to work, people need to actually participate and leave comments. So, after a few more upgrades and improvements, I will be announcing a cash prize competition for whoever leaves the most (useful) comments for bookmakers in SureBetBookies.

Also, I have decided to return SureBetBookies to an openly sure bets based bookmaker database. There will be no attempt to disguise the sure bets association with the use of SureBetBookies. However, to offset this association I am also working on another website which will use the same database that drives SureBetBookies, but make it completely recreation/professional gambler dedicated. The website is already under construction at Sportsbook-Listing.com and while it will use the same database as SureBetBookies, none of the alert services information will be used or displayed, no reference to arbitrage or sure bets will be made anywhere on the website, I will be posting articles about gambling and sports, and I will advertise the website on gambling websites. This is a further step to protect users of SureBetBookies from being associated with arbitrage trading.

A few more updates on several Alert Services

Posted by Aegist on September 28th, 2007

I have spoken to Nickel Vacuum and confirmed that their service is now offline permanently. As such I have moved it into the extinct services category.

ArbExpert have previously contacted me and informed me that they have added FonBet and Matchbook to their service, and have updated their calculator to reflect the changes in Betfair and BetDAQ commission rates. This was all done very promptly after Betfair removed their flat 1% fee, and it is good to see such attention to detail in an alert service. The SureBetBookies database has also been updated to reflect changes in their bookmaker list.

ArbitragePro are announcing that they will be increasing their fees by 10% at the beginning of November. Their monthly subscription will now cost £154 while 3 months will cost £415. Their part time plans of 20 hours and 65 hours will cost £22 and £65 respectively.

Zero Risk Arbitrage have also indicated that they have some changes in the wind, but nothing solid to be announced yet.

SportsPunter, as ever, has added several new improvements to their service in the past few weeks. One improvement allows users to set upper and lower limits on their arbitrage filter and audible alerts, and set those limits specifically to 3 way and 2 way arbs. Another is a tweak in the comparison between 2 way odds and 3 way odds for golf, rugby union, handball and futsal, so that 3 way odds will not be mixed with 2 way odds in error, while the ‘Home Asian - Draw - Away’ arbs will now work for these sports. It also factors in the ‘dead heat rule’ for draws in those 2 way markets.

Gamblers Paradise 14 Day Trial and Cleaning the Alert Services List

Posted by Aegist on September 19th, 2007

Gamblers Paradise have recently started to offer all new members a 14 day free trial. Old members who have only had a 1 day trial can email trial AT gamblers-paradise.net and request to take the full 14 day trial if they wish. The new trial is an opportunity for their members to try out a number of new features which they have added to their service, as well as set up the old features. These include:
· Setup own bookmaker filter in MY-Accounts on-the-fly. Filter: “Filter (xx) bookies from My-account”
· Setup own exchange commission on-the-fly. Filter: “Deduct commission from My-account”
· Share your blog comments
· Install and test the offline Firefox extension module
And to play with the filters like:
· Switch between: Normal screen (more information) and PRO screen (1 line / Surebets)
· Toggle between 6 different color styles
· Toggle between full odds history, %-changes or none.
· NEW: Toggle between 9 different alert sounds
· NEW: Speaking numbers instead of alert sounds!
· NEW: Remove sports you don’t want (current 21)
· Display only Surebets over xx%
· Show/Remove risky bets (different sport rules)
· Show all/only new Surebets
· Show 2way Surebets only / All Surebets

The Alert Service List - Spring Cleaning

OK, so its Autumn/Fall for most of the world, but where I live it has just gone spring, and it turns out SAG’s alert service list really needed some spring cleaning. All of the alert service which were listed in the “Inactive Alert Services” category were all in fact no longer functional. I have moved them all to “Extinct Alert Services” and have started contacting all of the companies in the alert service list trying to ensure every other alert is still active, taking members and responsive to attempts at contact. I have already found that Nickel Vacuum is not currently taking new subscribers (not sure of the details yet, I will update on this soon). So the alert service list will be being updated quite a lot over the coming few weeks.

Alert Super Comparison - SBP, SP, NV, JT, AE

Posted by Aegist on February 9th, 2007

It is very hard to do anything else when you have 5 different alert services running at once, and very few if any filters on any of them. Just for the record.

Particularly when the Friday night NBA and NCAA games are all about to start. I get 3 or 4 alerts a minute. As great as that sounds, remember, I have no filters on, so it is only great if I have money in all of those bookmakers…which of course I don’t.

But regardless of this, the objective here is to simply compare many services at once. I have Nickel Vacuum, Sports Punter, ArbExpert, SureBetPro and Juice Trading all running at once, and I am just trying to get a feel for how each performs. And a few things stick out. Of the new services, ArbExpert is the only one which is really performing at this time. In fact, I dare say that it is even out performing the two longstanding arb services (SportsPunter and SBP). SBP seems to consistently have the longest list of arbs, with ArbExpert and Sports Punter on pretty even ground for second. Nicke Vacuum continues to only ever have one or two arbs at a time, usually low returns and more often than not with BetFair. Juice Trading did manage to find one arb during the basketball peak hour amongst the few bookmakers I used with them (they only have 9 to select from, and I don’t use all of them. If youdon’t have an account with the bookmaker, then Juice Trading can’t collect the odds for that bookmaker), but until they fix that european and american odds mismatch, their service is very very limited in its application.

Meanwhile, the usage of each alert service is very distinctive and most worthy of mention. ArbExpert and SportsPunter stand out as the best options in this regard too. What both of these services do which most don’t, is they clearly display the extra details which are often important to know with an arb. That is, you can see at a glance 1. The age of the arb, 2. How long until the arb is played out. Every alert service displays the Arb percentage, and they all with varying degrees of accuracy display the sport, country, and league the event is taking place in (although again, ArbExpert displays this most clearly because it displays the actual location for EACH bookmaker, not simply one single general heading). SBP has always irritated me in this regard. They have the most awkward display, everyone who uses it has surely thought exactly the same thing, and I have no idea why they haven’t fixed it…they make it actually difficult to figure out where the sport is being played and what league or tournament it is in. This is the sort of information you NEED to know in order to place your arb quickly!

With all of that said, I know for a fact that both Juice Trading and Nickel Vacuum are targetting their service at beginners at this stage. They are both focussing on simple sports, simple bet types, and focus on arbs which are in essence very hard to make a mistake on. And also, they are starting small and building up, hence the fewer arbs. It is definitely something worth noting about alert services, and something which I probably need to incorporate into the basic summary of each alert service on SAG; a rating system to indicate arbitrage experience required to safely use a system. SportsPunter is currently right up my list of favourite services, but the truth is, you wouldn’t want to start out with SportsPunter if you are just starting in arbitrage. They often find error arbs which you need experience to identify, and they find confusing bet type arbs, for instance they find “Home asian - Away - Draw” arbs (try doing the maths on them!!). ArbExpert seems to be much more reliable than SportsPunter in this regard, so again I guess that means ArbExpert is right up there. As usual, it looks like you need to pay for the highest quality.

ArbExpert - £100/month
SportsPunter - $75/month
SureBetPro - $139/month
Nickel Vacuum - $50/month
Juice Trading - $99 Once Off

Nickel Vacuum - First Impression

Posted by Aegist on February 4th, 2007

Nickel Vacuum has a lot going for it, but it is still quite ‘young’. I really have high expectations for this alert service over the coming months as Adam continues to develop the program. He already has an extensive list of bookmakers, bet types, and sports that he is constantly adding to the service, plus there are a few improvements with the general function of the site which he is implementing which will result in a very nice arbitrage trading experience.

So although I have started off by listing the things which need to be improved with Nickel Vaccum, let me explain why I have high expectations: The admin of Nickel Vacuum, Adam, is very easy to get in contact with, and he is ready to take in constructive criticism and work to correct it and improve on it. That very simple thing means the potential for greatness is there. Plus, the Nickel Vacuum calculator is honestly the best arbitrage calculator I have seen so far. Adam has seriously taken all of the most important elements of arbitrage calculators, and put them all into this one simple “One Click” calculator which does all of the work for you, yet still allows you to control your bet amounts. Better than just describing it, you can play with it yourself in this mock version of the alert service: http://nickelvacuum.com/arb/mock.aspx Just click ‘calculate’.
So, in short, at this stage there is only limited useability for Nickel Vacuum as there are only a narrow field of sports and bet types being scanned for. However this limitation is being reflected in the price of only $50 CAD per month. Easily the cheapest alert service, and given time I am certain it will improve to become one of the best.

I will continue running Nickel Vacumm and see how it performs with regards to quality of arbs, reliability and the like and post more on here over the coming week or so.

Shane
