SportsPunter Unexpectedly Offline

Posted by Aegist on March 20th, 2007

The SportsPunter website and all related websites (Toptipper.com, rleaguebetting.com, sportspunter.com.au to name a few) have all been offline for over 24 hours now, and we aren’t certain why. Judging by the fact that all of the SportsPunter affiliated websites are offline, it seems most likely that the server on which all of the sites are hosted has simply crashed (quote thoroughly by the looks of it) and Daniel Kirk is most likely as busy as can be trying to get them all back online. Remember, those sites are his business and if they are offline he doesn’t make money either!

The other problem with losing the server entirely is that his email address (@sportspunter.com) won’t work. So there is no way of contacting him without a second email address, which is why I am also no more knowledgeable about what is happened here than anyone else. So I suggest you refrain from trying to email sportspunter at all to ask what is happening, because it won’t work anyway.

A few people have emailed me concerned that SportsPunter may have run off. While i can’t say anything for certain, I have absolutely no reason to suspect this to be the case. SportsPunter runs a great service which is constantly being improved upon with an owner who is dedicated to his subscribers (most of his subscribers already know this as you ahve all emailed him quite a few times already and been happy with his prompt reply times). Also, SportsPunter is much more than just arbitrage, considering all of the other websites which run for odds comparison, sports tipping competition websites and the like, there is absolutely no reason to pull the plug willfully on such well set up, well entrenched and recognised websites as those. If Daniel did want to get out of the business, he could make an awful lot more money selling his domains and websites than simply pulling the plug. So, I feel very confident saying that it is almost certainly the case here that their server has simply crashed in a phenomenal way, and they are trying to get it back online, and reload all of the backup data.

So for the moment all we can do is hold tight and wait for the problem to be rectified. Hopefully it will be fixed today or tomorrow at the latest, if we aren’t, hopefully Daniel will contact me or post in our forums to just give us a run down of what is happening.

If you have any questions or problems, I suggest asking about them in this thread: http://www.dreamteammoney.com/index.php?showtopic=20035 in our forums, and as usual you can email me, but the fact is I don’t know anything other than what I have said here!

I will update this Blog and that forum thread as more news comes out.

Shane
