US Arbers Lose another Giant - Pinnacle is out

Posted by Aegist on January 11th, 2007

In a blow to US arbers which may very well spell the end, Pinnacle has ceased all US operations. the front page of their website states:

Effective Immediately…

After careful consideration, Pinnacle Sports has chosen to voluntarily exit the American market. Accordingly, wagers will no longer be accepted from clients located within the United States as of Thursday 11th January 2007.

We would like to assure all our clients that your balances are available but those clients who are affected will be required to withdraw their balances using the Cashier function on their account. Please note that any pending wagers will be honored by Pinnacle Sports. As your wagers are graded, you may use the Cashier function to request any balance due.

As ever, Pinnacle Sports will continue to provide our Canadian and International clients with the same great value they have come to expect from the World’s leading online sports book and casino.

Without Pinancle, most of the arbitrage backbone is lost. There are still lots of books left to arbitrage, but when it comes to consistency, none come close to Pinnacle. So for the US arber, things are looking pretty desperate.

BetCRIS were quick on the scene to offer to take up the displaced US bettors from Pinnacle. Another great arbitrage book, betCRIS would definitely be a worthy replacement…if only you still had Pinnacle to arb it against! Nonetheless, anyone sportsbook junkies who are just looking for a new sportsbook to tranfer across to, or a new bookmaker to replace Pinnacle with, BetCRIS are actually a very good book with equally high acceptance of arbitrageurs.
