ProArbs has just been released in a beta testing form – which means it is FREE (good news for everyone out there who wants to test out this arbing thing for a while – always take advantage of a free ride when you are given one!). It looks pretty good so far, web based and pretty simple to use. The developers are promising much more ongoing work, with new bookmakers regularly being added as well as intentions on operating their own forum where users can provide feedback and request features etc.

After a few more improvements, including a general odds comparison service and addition of a couple more sports and bookmakers, they will move out of the Beta stage and start to charge a subscription fee for access, so take advantage of the free while you can and see if you can help them make this another service which is worth paying for.

I have also added ProArbs to the SureBetBookies filter system, so you will be able to filter down to the bookmakers they use, and of course, perform all of the other useful filtering combinations which SBB makes possible (see which books overlap between PA and your current alert service for example – or find what new books PA covers which your current alert service doesn’t??) Please be warned that there is a Moneybookers/Skrill email being sent around at the moment telling you that you need to update your Moneybookers account to the new Skrill system. It is a “Phishing” email, meaning that it is sent from a scammer in order to get your account details.

If you follow the link in the email and enter your account details as directed, the scammer will log in to your account and steal the money. I first saw a warning about this in ArbForum, and then heard from a SAG reader that they had been scammed by it. They followed the instructions in the email and soon afterwards had someone log in to their account and steal several hundred pounds from it.

The email is VERY REAL LOOKING. This is a professional looking scam!  Don’t trust things just because they ‘look legit’. There are a couple of simple rules you should ALWAYS follow when dealing with money accounts:

1. NEVER follow links from emails to financial websites. ALWAYS type the URL in yourself (or use your own bookmarks etc). Always always always.
2. Never give your password to anyone, or enter it anywhere else. Only ever enter it when logging on to the website, after having typed in the URL yourself.

These two should help avoid phishing scams in general.
